AN ASSINIBOINE BEADED HIDE AND FRINGED MAN'S SHIRT
Open at sides and overlaid across the shoulders and down each arm with hide strips, each decorated with with yellow, green, white, varying shades of blue and translucent red beads in geometric patterns composed of rectangular motifs enclosing pairs of hourglass designs and flanked with three extending pointed designs, alternating with six pointed stars, wrapped red quillwork around the fringe at the bottom of hide strips across the shoulders, triangular fringe tabs attached at the collar decorated with green, white, pink and varying shades of blue beads in similiar patterns, lined with floral trade cloth around the edge of collar, serrated edges on each sleeve

Former collection of Harvey Johnson, western artist and charter member of the Cowboy Artists of America. Mr. Johnson used his Plains Indian artifacts as props for his paintings.
