Mounted on a square base with scalloped apron and four bracket feet and fitted with a large, lower square drawer, two narrow rectangular drawers and a deep upper compartment below the hinged, square lid, inlaid on the front in mother-of-pearl with two flower sprays, two panels of floral latticework on the narrow drawers and with panels of a stag and doe, bamboo and a pair of turtles on the lower drawer, the side panels inlaid with a lacquer stand of the same flowers on the front and the left side inlaid with bamboo, the cover inlaid with a roundel of two cranes, peaches and an auspicious character; the backgrounds of each side and the entire back panel black lacquer, the interior of the upper compartment black lacquer, each drawer and the base undecorated wood; mounted with metal fittings, drawer pulls and lockplate, the lower pull in the shape of a stylized, auspicious bat
