NINE ROMANO-BRITISH ENAMELED BRONZE BROOCHES AND FITTINGS
circa 1st-2nd century a.d.
Including a plate brooch in the form of a Hippocamp; a stud in the form of an eight-petalled rosette with alternating red and blue enamel; three disk brooches, one with eight radiating knobs and a central ring of red enamel; one with a rosette of white on a blue ground with a red center; and one with a central metal circle surrounded by six similar circles, with red and green enamel; a circular brooch with double lunettes at each end, all with orange and two shades of green enamel, with a central fish-like finial in the center; an oval brooch with small rounded projections at each end, bisected by rectangular projections with rounded corners, with red, orange and green enamel; a rectangular brooch with concave sides and a knobbed projection from one end, with orange, red, and green enamel; and a fitting with a round and a tear-shaped element joined by an angled shaft, with red, green and yellow enamel
