A VISIGOTHIC GILT BRONZE BELT BUCKLE
circa early 6th century a.d.
The tongue set with a yellow glass cabochon in the small basal cube, a hook below for attachment to the oval loop, both joined to the rectangular plate by a folded flap pinned to the back-plate, the box-like plate with all-over cloisonné centered around a rectangle of faceted red-brown glass, surrounded by inlays of blue-green and red-brown glass
