Carved in the form of a seated dog, paws drawn in together on either side of the tail and the head facing down over the right haunch, the backbone carefully modelled and the fur finely etched and partially stained, unsigned, himotoshi formed by interstices between paws, eyes inlaid in black stone--1 5/8 in. (4.2 cm.) high
