The back of the mirror finely painted with a lively scene of children in a courtyard surrounding a leashed Buddhist lion, encircled by ruby and emerald beads and mounted on a shell frame, the blue-enamelled handle painted in gilt with fruiting and flowering sprigs; the rectangular box divided into two compartments, hinged in the middle with two adjoining covers, each enamelled with lotus spray against a combed blue ground, the sides lightly incised with floral scrolls and the base with a central spiral radiating petals (losses to beads, some replaced, losses to enamel on box)
