THREE SMALL AGATE VASES
19TH CENTURY

One a moss agate vase well carved as a dragon/carp leaping from a base of waves issuing from the mouth of a dragon descending from the carp's head on one side, the pale blue-gray stone suffused with dark green moss inclusions; the second, also carved from moss agate, carved as a small pear-shaped vase standing on an outcropping of rock from which sprout lingzhi and pine boughs, the green moss inclusions in the translucent stone used to highlight the pine needles and fungus; the third of chalcedony carved around the sides with fruit-laden peach trees and two birds
4¾, 3 7/8 and 3¾in. (12, 9.9 and 9.5cm.) high, one wood stand (3)
