A WHITE JADE CENSER AND COVER
18TH/19TH CENTURY

The deep bowl with rounded sides rising from a cylindrical foot, carved in low relief with a continuous band of archaistic dragon scroll, set with a pair of simple loop handles suspending loose rings from ornately carved archaistic dragon plaques at the flat, everted rim decorated with further dragon scroll, the domed cover similarly decorated below a waisted finial carved with four dragon-head handles suspending loose rings below a flat, separately carved circular plaque decorated with a ruyi flowerhead medallion, the softly polished, grayish-white stone with some added russet staining
