A GOLD-SPLASHED BRONZE BOMBÉ CENSER AND STAND
XUANDE THREE-CHARACTER SEAL MARK CAST WITHIN A RECTANGLE, 17TH/18TH CENTURY

The heavily cast censer with compressed sides raised on a slightly flared foot with a pair of elephant-head handles below a flat rim, the stand pierced on top with a circular aperture, with openwork bombé sides formed by shaped aprons joining the five trefoil supports connected below by a circular stretcher, both pieces with a golden-olive patina finely flecked allover in gold
