A VICTORIAN SILVER CENTERPIECE SIX LIGHT CANDELABRUM, maker's mark of Stephen Smith & William Nicholson, London, 1860, the circular base raised on a tri-part pedestal on three acanthus and honeysuckle supports, below a band chased with tied leaves and with applied acanthus at intervals, all supporting a stylized trunk with six scrolling branches applied with leaves and vines, with acanthus leaf drip-pans and leaf form sockets, the base applied with the cast figures of a hare and greyhound, above a band chased with ovolo and dart, the central standard with flaring acanthus supporting a cut-glass bowl, the base engraved with a coat-of-arms, crest and motto within foliate scroll mantling, fully marked--31in. (78.8cm.) high, the silver 202oz.
