An engine-turned oblong cedar-lined cigar box on scrolling bracket feet, the domed hinged cover inset with a photographic enamel plaque of Cameronian with date beneath and with a smaller plaque enamelled with the owner's colours, engraved: "My First Derby F. Darling from" followed by a signature, London 1931 - 10¾in.
Cameronian, the 1931 Derby winner, was owned by J. A. Dewar, trained by F. Darling and ridden by jockey F. Fox. His starting price was 7/2 on favourite. This box was obviously presented by the grateful owner to his trainer.
