The wooden brigantine Siri (208 tons) was built and first registered at Söderhamn, in 1876. Ordered by J.F. Schöning, also of Söderhamn, she was 109 feet long and had a 23 foot beam. Sold to William O'Swald & Co. in 1893, Siri was renamed Tamatave and her port of registry altered to Hamburg. Sold again in 1900 and re-registered under the French flag on Réunion Island, she changed hands for the last time in 1903 and passed into British ownership registered at Mahé in the Seychelles. She was wrecked on Alphonse Island on 10 February 1904 whilst en route there fron Mahé in ballast.
