A set of six Arita octagonal plates, each painted in underglaze blue, coloured enamels and gilt with a central jardiniere of flowers on a terrace within a border of shaped panels of chrysanthemums issuing from brushwood fences on a scattered flowerhead ground (some gilt rubbing) -- 8½in. diam, circa 1700.
