A large Satsuma oviform vase with slightly everted rim, painted and gilt with shaped panels of warriors in landscapes, officials in interiors, birds in flight among chrysanthemums and pine and peonies issuing from fences, all on a ground of stylised birds, flowers and geometric patterns -- 24in. high.
