An embossed and pierced paperlace valentine card stamp marked Dobbs, with hand-coloured, gilded and fabric details, the silk centre applied with a hand-coloured Cupid surrounded by a garland of flowers, the manuscript verse reads 'Love among the Roses!', rebacked and mounted, 8¾ x 7¼in., c. 1840.
