Six cameo embossed, embossed and pierced paperlace valentine cards, all with hand-coloured details and hand-written verses, four with bird themes, one decorated with Eiderduck feathers, two with two feather quills, the verse reads 'O write to me/Where e'er thou be/One little line/if but to tell/That thou art happy, thou/art well', with an envelope beneath opening to reveal the words 'A letter from/you is/Heartease to me', (three laid down), 7½ x 5in., c. 1860-70.
