Two embossed and pierced paperlace valentine cards both stamp marked Dobbs Kidd & Co., both with hand-coloured applied centres, both entitled in watercolour, one 'The Rivals', the other 'Hoping to Make you Acquaintance', the latter applied with a satin pie embroidered 'Welcome Little Stranger', lifting to reveal an applied hand-coloured Cupid, one watermarked 'Whatman 1865', the other c. 1855.
