A well presented wooden unrigged display model of a 16-gun brig built by P.Rumsey. Measurements overall -- 10 x 23¼in (25.5 x 59cm)
The partially planked deck is fitted with carved female figurehead, hair rails, catheads, bitts, belaying rails, companionways, capstan, ship's wheel and tiller, deck beams and supports. The hull, unplanked to the waterline is fitted with chain plates and decorated bulwarks with gun ports. Finished in varnish, black and venetian red with contrasting woods. Decorative glazed case.
