A detailed exhibition standard waterline display model of the Battle-Cruiser 'H.M.S. Hood' as fitted out in 1933, built by B.L.C. Hill 1976/77 from plans drawn by Norman Ough. Measurements overall 17¾ x 66ins (45 x 167.5cms)
With masts, radio aerials, signal halyards and deck details including anchors and winching, cleats and bollard, deck-rails, companionways, lockers, main, secondary and anti-aircraft armaments, superstructure with fire control tower and bridge with range-finders, search-lights and other equipment, stayed funnels with safety valve extension pipes, ventilators, aft fire control tower with range-finders and search-lights, awning staunchions, twelve ship's boats with bottom boards and thwarts, four in davits, three steam pinnaces and motor launch, all with detailed superstructures, propellers and rudders and much other fine detail. Finished in grey and light green decks and mounted on a simulated seascape with the ship's crest. With aluminium framed glazed cover.
