An extremely unusual French prisoner-of-war copper and boxwood model of a 92 gun Ship of the Line - 8 x 12½ins (20.3 x 31.8cms) with bound masts, yards, standing and running rigging and deck details including carved warrior figurehead, hair rails, copper anchors with bound wooden stocks, windlass, belaying rails, deck-rails, gratings, well deck with deck-beams over, deck-lights and upper deck guns. The hull has open gun ports, decorated stern and quarter galleries on decorated bulwarks. Mounted in two carved wood cradles and parquetry straw work base. Ebonised, glazed case with flower and scroll carving, mounted on four turned feet.
