A Persian tinned copper bowl with horizontal ribbed line, carved in intricate style to the interior with portrait medallions surrounding a open stylised flowerhead on grounds of densely packed foliage, the exterior with shaped and arched lappet panels incorporating battle scenes and seated figures surrounded by birds, elephants, tigers, deer and other animals, all alternating with further narrow panels of animals including monkeys, hares, lions, and wild boar, below a narrow band of scrolling foliage, the base with further bands incorporating animals and flowers -- 6¼in. diam, probably early 19th century.
