A Qajar polychrome lacquer papier mache qalamdan with rounded ends and sliding tray, the top and sides painted and gilt with continuous scenes of nightingales amongst roses and flowers on a black ground (slight retouching of gilt and lacquer at ends) -- 8¾in. long.
