A fine and detailed builders model of the turret deck steamer 'Fairport' built and engineered by W.Doxford & Sons Ltd, Sunderland, for The Port Steam Ship Co.Ltd Newcastle --12¾ x 44in (32.5 x 111.8cm)
With masts, derricks, rigging and deck details including anchors, winches, cleats, bollards, ventilators, deck rails, companionways, hatches, deck winches, wheel house with bridge over with ship's wheel, binnacle and telegraphs, stayed funnel, gratings, engine room lights, poop deck house and four ship's boats with bottom boards and thwarts in davits and many other fine details. Finished in red, black and varnish with gold plated deck fittings and mounted on two gold plated turned columns. Original mahogany glazed case. (some loose pieces).
