A French kingwood, gilt-metal-mounted and marquetry bureau a cylindre, decorated with foliate scrolls, cornucopiae, vases and birds, the superstructure with a guilloche-decorated cavetto frieze and marble top with a pierced three-quarter gallery, the fall centred by a panel with musical trophies and enclosing a fitted interior with a sliding writing surface, fitted with three short and a long drawer below on cabriole legs terminating in sabots -- 29in. (74cm.) wide, 17in. (44cm.) deep, 40in. (102cm.) high.
