An autograph letter, signed, dated 3-11-61 [March 11th, 1961], to a friend from his army days in Germany Johnnie [Rico], telling him ... Do you remember the good times we had together. You know that you are to (sic) only true friend. Most of my friends live off me. I think if I was to be a flop. They would all turn against me. But you never ask me for a penny. You always listen to my problems and you help me out. You know that I can be alone because I think of my mother. I need you here with me Johnnie. Because I can trust you ... I give you a job. You could drive me around, or take care of my car's (sic). I pay you $100 or more if you want just come out here and live with me. We can have some fun like we did in Germany I never had so much fun in my life ... If you don't here (sic) from me soon don't think I forgot you. But I got to make two movies. Go see them will you.
