A library celestial globe, diameter 21 inches (53½cm), overall height 47 inches (119cm), the globe made up of two sets of 12 engraved gores, laid to the ecliptic poles, constellation figures lightly hand-coloured in outline, the star positions derived from the catalogue of Mr Wollaston, light varnish (some minor discolouration of gores). Metal pinions, brass hour and meridian circles, hand-coloured engraved horizon circle, the globe mounted on a mahogany stand, the horizon supported by three quadrant supports carrying brass centrepost, turned and reeded legs with cross stretchers incorporating compass, castors (some minor wear to stand).
