An early metal-rod jointed Steiff teddy bear
with golden mohair, black boot button eyes, ears sewn across facial seams, horizontal seam from ear to ear, thin pronounced snout, replaced black stitched nose and mouth, five brown claws stitched across the plush, swivel head, elongated rod jointed limbs, hump and elephant button in ear --20in. (50cm.) tall, circa 1904 (replaced felt pads, small restoration to snout, restoration to ears, repair to small hole on upper left leg, mohair worn in places), sold with life size X-ray
