AN APULIAN RED-FIGURE LEKANIS AND LID, ATTRIBUTED TO THE ZURICH GROUP 2660

The lid with two female heads in profile, each wearing a sakkos, one with open end, palmettes between them, wave motif around the rim overhang, details added in yellow, the footed black glazed base with twin handles, 3¾ in. (9.5 cm.) high; another Apulian red-figure lekanis, similar, the base without handles, 4 1/8 in. (10.5 cm.) high; a similar Lekanis lid, with rays around the lip overhang, 3 in. (7.6 cm.) diam.; and a black-glazed 'salt' dish, on ring foot, 1¾ in. (4.5 cm.) high, all circa 350-300 B.C. (3)
