AN APULIAN RED-FIGURE KNOB-HANDLED DISH
LATE 4TH CENTURY B.C.
On circular foot, the interior decorated with a profile head of a woman facing to left, with ringlets and wearing jewellery, encircled by a laurel wreath border, details in yellow and white, one handle missing, 8½ in. (21.6 cm.) diam.; another red-figure footed dish, the tondo with profile head of a bejewelled woman, wearing a radiate diadem, rosettes in the field, encircled by a laurel wreath, the rim with short strokes, metallic black glazed exterior, 6 7/8 in. (17.5 cm.) diam.; and an Etruscan stemmed dish with profile female head surrounded by five orange running spirals, 5 3/8 in. (13.7 cm.) diam, both circa 4th Century B.C. (3)
