A LURISTAN BRONZE TWIN-PRONGED SPIT FORK
EARLY 1ST MILLENNIUM B.C.
The long prongs with conical folded socket for attachment to shaft, 23 3/8 in. (59.4 cm.) long; a bronze horse-bit, the jointed mouthpiece with ring terminals, each attached sidebar with twin loops for straps, 9 5/8 in. (24.5 cm.) across; a bronze dagger with flanged hilt to take inlays, the tapered blade with broad flat mid-rib, 12¾ in. (32.4 cm.) long; a bronze rat-tanged spear-head, the blade with gently curved shoulders, 13¾ in. (35 cm.) long; a bronze tubular mount with bell-shaped body and long shaft with everted rim, inserted tang, 10 in. (25.4 cm.) high; and a bronze 'mirror' plate, the disc with rectangular projection at one side with openwork terminal, 8 1/8 in. (20.7 cm.) long, all mounted, all early 1st millennium B.C. (6)
