A LARGE GROUP OF NEAR EASTERN AND EGYPTIAN FAIENCE AND HARDSTONE STAMP SEALS AND AMULETS

Comprising a group of late Uruk/Jemdet Nasr hardstone hemispheroid stamp seals, two with collars, their bases drilled with animal designs, 3300-2900 B.C.; a shell tabloid stamp seal engraved with two scorpions; two Neo-Babylonian chalcedony stamp seals with worshippers before divine symbols; a chalcedony scaraboid with star-standard, circa 6th Century B.C.; a Sassanian agate stamp seal with recumbent stag, 4th-5th Century A.D.; a group of hardstone and shell amulets, including Late Uruk/Jemdet Nasr and Early Dynastic animal amulets, 3300-2300 B.C.; a cornelian lion's head; a green stone frog; two Egyptian faience wedjat-eye amulets and two clenched fists, all 1st millennium B.C.; an amethyst conoid pendant; a large agate tabloid bead, 2 x 1½ in. (5 x 3.9 cm.); a banded agate 'eye'-bead; and two glass roundels, one with frontal face, the other with profile bird, 2 in. (5.1 cm.) long max.(a lot)
