A CYPRIOT WHITE SLIP WARE 'TANKARD' JUG AND 'MILK' BOWL
LATE BRONZE AGE, 1650-1450 B.C.
The 'tankard' jug with wide cylindrical neck, thumb-grip spur on the handle, a further protruding spur at the base of the neck, with fine painted linear decoration in two shades of brown, cross-hatched bands, rows of connecting lozenges, a 'horned' motif below the spur, linear patterns with small circles continue on rim interior and ring base, repaired with restoration; the hemispherical bowl with wishbone handle, with brown painted linear decoration with 'horned'-stems, wavy lines, repaired
