FOUR CYPRIOT WHITE PAINTED WARE JUGS
MIDDLE BRONZE AGE, 1900-1650 B.C.
Comprising a jug with spherical body, short cylindrical spout and strap handle, dark brown painted decoration comprising encircling wavy lines on the neck and body, two bands of cross-hatched triangles alternating with dotted circles, and vertical wavy lines in triplicate below centring on the base, repaired fracture, 7¾ in. (19.6 cm.) high; another similar, the loop handle with incised hatches and the body with orange cross-hatched vertical bands separated by wavy lines, restored chip to rim, 9 in. (22.8 cm.) high; a jug with cutaway-beak spout, small strap handle, with dark brown painted linear decoration, a band of cross-hatched zigzag around the body, vertical lines in triplicate below, spout tip restored, 5 7/8 in. (15 cm.) high; and another similar with painted linear decoration, single boss at base of neck and loop handle behind, the spout with restoration, 9¼ in. (23.5 cm.) high (4)
