FOUR CYPRIOT BLACK SLIP WARE VESSELS
MIDDLE BRONZE AGE, CIRCA 1800-1725 B.C.
Comprising a 'tankard' jug with squat rounded body and wide neck with everted rim, the handle with thumb-grip spur, pierced central lug at base of neck, decorated with encircling straight and wavy relief lines, 8½ in. (21.5 cm.) high; another with the decoration incised, additional pierced lugs on the neck and handle, 10¼ in. (26 cm.) high; another similar, with diminutive lug handle at base of neck opposite loop handle, incised decoration of vertical wavy lines, the rounded base with an encircling incised relief band, repaired, 11 in. (27.8 cm.) high; and a jug with rounded body, short cylindrical spout with everted rim, ring handle, bosses around the shoulder and incised bands of straight and wavy incisions, 6 7/8 in.
