A FLEMISH OR NETHERLANDISH POLYCHROME CARVED WOOD FIGURE OF A FEMALE SAINT, EARLY 17TH CENTURY
with an integrally carved base and detatchable wood plinth; the plinth with an attached piece of paper inscibed in ink 'St Aldegouda Carved wood figure of the 15th Cent. Said to have been carved by the Dutch Refugees and placed originally over the door way of a hospital in Beccles, Suffolk.'; the rear also inscibed in paint '16'; the polychrome refreshed in places; chips, losses and worming - 28¾ in. (73 cm.) high (2)
