of baluster form with leaf-moulded handles, painted with court and country couples in a landscape, the reverse with sprays of fruit and flowers, within chased gilt oval panels below bands of 'jewels', imitation Sèvres marks, circa 1880 (damage and restoration, some rubbing and regilding) -- 24cm. high
