A pair of Sèvres style gilt-metal-mounted turquoise-ground vases and covers
painted with Watteauesque couples in landscapes, the reverse with loose sprays of flowers, within chased gilt and 'jewelled' panels issuing leaves, the dome covers with bands of flowers, the finials formed as pinecones above stiff leaf bands, the handles as satyr masks, the lowers sections cast with stiff leaves above gadrooned sections and canted square bases, circa 1870 (some slight rubbing and 'jewels' missing) -- 28cm. high
