The broken scrolled pediment centred by a ball finial above a frieze centred by a circular boxwood medallion supported by scrolling foliagte and acanthus, and fitted with an arched glazed door enclosing a brass and gilt-metal mounted dial, with silvered chapter ring, subsidiary seconds dial and chime/silent and Whittington/Westminster dial to the arch, the case fitted with an oval bevelled glazed door inlaid with further marquetry spandrels, and enclosing seven graduated steel tubes and three brass weights, the panelled and inlaid base on a moulded plinth with bracket feet
