A charming fan, the leaf painted with a fair in a park with a chateau beyond, in the foreground a lady chooses ribbons, a man weighs a little child on giant scales, a lady amuses a little girl with a toy horse and cart, other figures play boules, whilst a man playing the bagpipes, the verso with a shepherdess and two other figures, the mother of pearl sticks carved and pierced with figures and painted with squirrels and trophies of love - 11in. (29cm.), French, circa 1750
