The silvered dial signed John Poole, MAKER TO THE ADMIRALTY, 57 Fenchurch St. London. 1860., Roman numerals with gold hands, blued steel hands for the up-and-down and seconds dials, movement with spotted plates, main-frame assembly carrying reversed fusee, barrel and centre wheel, sub-frame assembly with chain guard carrying remainder of the train, with Earnshaw escapement, cut bimetallic compensated balance with circular heat compensation weights and Poole's auxiliary blued steel helical balance spring, spring foot detent with jewelled locking pallet, brass bowl numbered 1860, the three-tier rosewood box with quarter-round brass edging and brass stringing to front and (replacement) top lid, the front of the middle section with bone plaque engraved JOHN POOLE, 57, Fenchurch Street, London No. 1860, recessed brass handles
