A Japanese brass and iron striking lantern clock with alarm (KAKE-DOKEI)
Second half 19th century
The rectangular case with plain side doors and mottled patina to the rear plate, with iron top and base plates, on octagonal section feet, the black lacquered chapter ring with painted red numerals, with revolving central disc carrying the pierced brass hand and with concentric pin holes for alarm set, the two train movement with verge escapement and single foliot, with countwheel strike and alarm on domed bell; with red and black painted wood wall bracket
The clock -- 10in. (25.5cm.) high; 19¾in. (50cm.) high overall
