A Japanese brass and iron striking lantern clock with alarm, on stand (DAI-DOKEI)
Second half 19th century
The rectangular case etched overall with a mottled design, with iron top and base plates, on octagonal feet, the revolving brass dial with Roman numerals (twice-XII) and stationary pierced brass hand, the two train movement with verge escapement and foliot, with countwheel strike on domed bell; on later hardwood stand with cabriole legs
The clock -- 10in (25.5cm.), 29½in. (75cm.) high overall
