The case with brass handle to inverted bell top and later stylised pineapple finials to each angle, glazed sides, the front door with later foliate pierced brass quarter frets, the base on brass moulded squab feet, the dial spuriously signed William Webster London within the finely matted centre with mock pendulum and calendar apertures, the arcaded brass chapter ring with Roman and Arabic numerals and pierced blued steel hands, central brass alarm disc, silvered foliate spandrels, the arch with strike/silent ring engraved Slaan/NietSlaan, the five pillar twin gut fusee movement with verge escapement, Dutch striking on two bells with trip repeat, the alarm sounding on the larger hour bell with the alarm spring pulley mounted on the foliate engraved backplate; case formerly ebonised
