The front, side doors and rear of the case engraved with broad scrolls against a hatched ground, with angled steel pillars and knop finials to the top flanking a domed bell, the right inside right door later inscribed BONI, on flattened bun feet, the silvered chapter ring marked with Roman hours and the centre indicating the quarters, with brass hands, the twin train movement with anchor escapement and bell strike; lacking alarm train
