A Continental gilt-metal and silver monstrance table clock

The gilt-metal case on moulded spreading foot engraved with stiff leaves and cast with formal strapwork embellished with vignettes of fruit and winged cherub heads, the band to the clock case engraved with further fruit and foliage centred by two winged cherubs' heads and surmounted by a gadrooned urn finial, the later(?) circular dial with applied silver chapter ring with Roman and Arabic numerals, the gilt centre cast and chased with formal strapwork and signed in the centre HANS. DEEVALO. F. EN. MADRID. 1.5.3.5; single foliate pierced and chased gilt-brass hand (tail damaged), the brass movement with large circular plates secured by four gilt baluster pillars, the going train with brass spring barrel and fusee, verge escapement now with counterbalanced pendulum escapement and previously with balance wheel and hog's bristle regulation (the regulation scale still visible), going barrel for the quarter strike on two bells; movement partially re-trained
