The case elaborately carved with foliage supported with volutes to the sides, the trunk flanked by triple columns to the glazed door within a foliate carved frame, with carved beaded bezel to the 23½in. diameter painted Roman dial signed Jno. Moore & Sons. Clerkenwell, London, with subsidiary seconds ring and black painted hands, the massive movement with six double-screwed pillars, the wheel train with six crossings, Vulliamy type deadbeat escapement with jewelled pallets, all pivots with end-caps, the 'scape wheel within jewelled chatons, Harrison's maintaining power, with fine adjustment to the crutchpiece to the steel rod mercury jar pendulum
