The case of typical form with reeded S-form handle to the moulded top set with a bevelled viewing glass pierced for the integral repeat button, bevelled glasses to the sides and solid rear door with shuttered apertures for wind and hand set, slide for balance regulation and strike/silent lever, the silvered dial signed JAMES MCCABE ROYAL EXCHANGE LONDON 3130 beneath the painted Roman chapter ring with blued steel fleur-de-lys hands, the five pillar twin chain fusee movement with large gilt platform atop the plates with plain three-arm balance and underslung lever escapement, strike/trip repeat on a steel gong fixed to the backplate signed James McCabe London 3130; with the original baize-lined mahogany and brass-bound travelling box (lacking front slide) and original numbered brass winding key
