A Charles II walnut, marquetry and pewter and ebony inlaid longcase clock
Dial signed E. Patrick De Parshore fecit
The case inlaid with bird-and-floral marquetry to the partially restored plinth now on later skirting, the trunk with rectangular door with ebonised mouldings, the bird-and-floral marquetry within pewter and ebony inlaid D-ended panels to the centre and bottom with brass-framed lenticle, later escutcheon and lock, similar marquetry to the rising hood with ebonised twist columns with gilt-metal capitals, later pierced wood sound fret beneath the moulded flat top, the 10 in. square dial signed Ed Patrick De Parshore Fecit on the silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring with restored blued steel hands, the finely matted centre with subsidiary seconds and calendar aperture, later(?) winged cherub-and-foliate spandrels, the five ringed pillar movement (centre pillar lacking) with anchor escapement and rack strike on bell; composite, case circa 1685, dial circa 1690 and movement early 18th Century
