An English mahogany and inlaid longcase clock, first quarter 19th century
The hood with swan neck pediment centred by carved anthemion cresting, with outset fluted pillars, the line inlaid short trunk door centred by a conch shell inlay and flanked by fluted pilasters, the plinth with reeded canted angles and on stepped base, the 13½in. square brass cut away brass dial with engraved decoration and painted later applied arch, its aperture painted with a seascape, the Arabic chapter ring with dot minute track, the centre with engraved minute and date rings and signed SAM.L BAILIE DROMORE, the four pillar rack striking movement with anchor escapement; case associated to dial and movement -- 88½in. (225cm.) high
