A substantial fragment of this important Biblical commentary by the Franciscan theologian Nicholas of Lyre. His great commentary, a series of separate analyses, or Postillae, on each biblical verse or section of a chapter, was greatly influential in the late Middle Ages and continued to be regarded as the definitive modern biblical commentary during the Reformation. The Postillae were frequently reprinted, in their entirety or in parts, throughout the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries. BMC IV, 14; BSB-Ink. N-110; HC *10363; Oates 1364, 1365; Pr 3322; Goff N-131.
